I've been running a children's musical theatre group for years and love every minute of it. My own children have all been "Showbiz Kids" at one time or another, and now my grandchildren are the right age. Unfortunately they all live too far away to be part of the group. But on a recent visit from Daughter #2, I decided I could still have the fun of dressing up her kids in costumes, even if they would never be around to perform.
The girl was quite happy to oblige me. The boy, not so much. But with a bribe of some original MacIntosh toffee, he agreed to try on three outfits.
So, for your viewing pleasure:
"Ve're Hans und Hilda, no doubt you have guessed
Schust vhere ve have come from by how ve are dressed."
"I can show you a world -- shining, shimmering, splendid.
Tell me, Princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?"
"I'm all shook up. Mm- mm--mm. Oh, yeah, yeah."
After three outfits, the boy was definitely done. (Read: The toffee had run out.) The girl would have continued, if only to please me, but I decided I better pace myself. After all, they'll be here again, and I've got another day and half worth of costumes for her to try on. Besides, I'm sure my two other victims grandchildren will be visiting soon.
The thought just occurred to me that I've become my own mother. Every time we visited her, we found ourselves the models of one of her new millinery creations.
Haha. Mom never did learn how to take a well-centered picture.
I love a good costume. Always have. Always will.

Haha these crack me up! You are becoming more and more like Swanee all the time...
Minus the terrible cooking.
LOVED the costumes. Carter was quite the sport. (I love a good costume too. Must run in our blood.) ;)
